Pomnażanie pieniędzy uczestników funduszy wypisane jest na reklamach TFI. Jednak rzeczywistość weryfikuje te szczytne założenia. Okazuje się, że większość funduszy jest poniżej rynku. Tym bardziej, że tzw. rynek jest znacznie powyżej indeksu WIG20 do którego jako do benchmarku odnosi się wiele funduszy.

WIG20 nie jest benchmarkiem
Indeks WIG20 jest indeksem cenowym i nie zawiera w sobie pożytków płynących z dywidend lub praw poboru. WIG20 od dnia rozpoczęcia notowań tj. od 14 kwietnia 1994 r. do 5 marca 2010 r. wzrósł o 139%, natomiast skorygowany indeks WIG20 uwzględniający wartość wypłaconych dywidend i wartość praw poboru wzrósł w analogicznym okresie o 245% (na podstawie wyliczenia jakie przeprowadził Expander). Różnica jest więc zasadnicza.
Fundusz indeksowy na WIG20, inwestujący w spółki proporcjonalnie do ich udziału w indeksie powinien osiągnąć (w podanym okresie) zwrot z inwestycji przybliżony do 245% (nieco niższy z uwagi na koszty transakcyjne).

Twój fundusz zapewne jest bardziej ambitny i nie jest funduszem indeksowym (te stanowią mniejszość), zatem warto sprawdzić czy Twój fundusz jest lepszy od skorygowanego indeksu WIG20 uwzględniającego dywidendy ze spółek i wartość praw poboru.

Największe ryzyko na rynku funduszy
Podstawowym ryzykiem jest to, kto, w jaki sposób i w jakim celu zarządza funduszem. Czyli innymi słowy po co właściciel funduszu założył biznes pod nazwą fundusz TFI. Jeśli wycena rośnie to i wkłady uczestników mają szanse rosnąć.
Dla właściciela funduszu najważniejsza jest inwestycja w ...reklamy funduszu i napływ środków którymi zarządzający będą zarządzali sobie znanymi metodami.
Ryzyko związane z zarządzaniem powierzonymi środkami nie ogranicza się tylko do wyceny aktywów, jest znacznie więcej ryzyk tam gdzie pojawiają się środki do zainwestowania. Załóżmy, że właściciel funduszu jest akcjonariuszami spółek lub posiadaczem wierzytelności na które trudno znaleźć kupca. W takiej sytuacji istnieje ryzyko, że fundusz odkupi "jakże cenne" aktywa od właściciela funduszu lub spółek z nim zaprzyjaźnionych...
